Workforce Solutions Announces Virtual Professional Training Program | Way of life


RIDGWAY Workforce Solutions for North Central PA, serving Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter counties, has announced the creation of the online platform for its “SkillUP NorthCentralPA” region.

Those looking to train new hires, create career paths for their employees, improve the current workforce, or offer training packages can do so for free.

The PA’s Department of Labor and Industry Assistant Secretary for Workforce Development, Sheila Ireland, recently announced the free online vocational training program ‘SkillUp PA’ to help job seekers. ‘Pennsylvania jobs to learn the new skills they need to join the workforce or advance their careers.

The platform is also available for businesses of all sizes, community organizations, colleges, libraries, etc. who wish to offer personalized training to their workforce or customers.

Since 2008, Metrix Learning, a web-based learning management system, has been used to meet the virtual career service needs of Workforce Development Boards, Libraries, Corporations and colleges. Metrix Learning offers comprehensive and impactful training, certification preparation and assessments. Over 350,000 job seekers have successfully used Metrix to update their professional skills to find employment.

The online platform and all those who partner with Workforce Solutions will have access to over 6,000 training modules, over 100 industry certification preparation courses, expert advice on creation of personalized training packages, administrative privileges that track progress and create reports, 24/7 online access and technical support on all devices. There is no minimum requirement to be eligible and no cost for those who register.
