UniFirst Corporation, a North American leader in the supply and maintenance of uniforms, workwear and facility maintenance products for businesses, has received two separate community service awards by the Textile Rental Services Association ( TRSA), an international organization representing linen, uniform, and facility service companies.

The TRSA Community Service Awards recognize operators and associates whose volunteer projects make a significant contribution to their local communities. UniFirst won one award in recognition of ‘company efforts’, while the other award recognized ’employee / staff contributions’.

UniFirst Corporation and its team-partner employees are used to mobilizing precisely when they are needed most in the communities in which they live and serve. This has been particularly evident throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021 alone, UniFirst donated large supplies of face masks, hand sanitizer bottles and personal protective equipment (PPE) to communities and essential workers in the United States and Canada, including included donations of over $ 1 million in safety supplies to the Greater Boston Foodbank. .

UniFirst’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts have been instrumental not only in spurring additional support at the local level from UniFirst employees, but also in highlighting important social issues and environmental issues that inspire business leaders to do even more.

“We are honored to be recognized by TRSA for our community service efforts at the corporate and staff level,” said Steven Sintros, President and CEO of UniFirst. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our business has remained fully functional and available to support our thousands of customer sites, many of which have helped local communities run smoothly. UniFirst has also donated face masks, soaps and hand sanitizers, and other personal protective equipment, to communities and small businesses across North America. These donations would not have been possible without the efforts and contributions of our team partners.

TRSA supports the linens, uniforms and facility services industry by creating and promoting a stronger, safer and more environmentally conscious community through advocacy, education, certification, research, benchmarking and information sharing.
