It has been almost two years since we gathered in the Tecsys office, but the camaraderie and community-oriented culture has not wavered; on the contrary, throughout the huge expansion and evolution it has proven to be contagious (wrong choice of words?). And this year’s Pedal for Kids program is a perfect testament to that.
Pedal for children
Yesterday, Tecsys employees hopped on a custom bike and drove through downtown Montreal to raise money for the Montreal Children’s Hospital through its annual Pedal for Kids fundraiser. Since 1999, employees from the Montreal office of Tecsys, an industry leader in supply chain management software, have participated in the fundraising event. He has raised over $ 100,000 to date for the cause.
Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of joining this team – raising money and riding a bike in the streets of Montreal – and what a heartwarming initiative it is. Pedal for Kids is a fundraising challenge for corporate and community teams that provides much-needed medical equipment, neonatal research and specialized training for nurse practitioners, all of which benefit the sickest babies in the province. It was created in 1991 by Sylvie Lalumière and Michael Conway in memory of their daughter Meagan, who had received treatment at the establishment.
“We are really touched by the involvement of companies like Tecsys,” says Renée Vézina, president of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. “With over $ 100,000 raised since its very beginnings as a participant in Pedal for Kids, Tecsys is a perfect fit for this event, which brings together hundreds of individuals, businesses and community groups for an exciting and lively visit. from downtown Montreal, all with the common goal of helping sick children at The Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Tecsys gives back
Pedaling for Kids has become an annual undertaking for the Tecsys Montreal office, and we are proud to be among other venerable participating companies.
The Pedal for Kids fundraiser holds a special place in our hearts here at Tecsys for over two decades, ”said Patricia Barry, Vice President of Human Resources at Tecsys. “The Montreal Children’s Hospital has been a vital institution for our youngest and most vulnerable, and we are proud to contribute to the important work they do. Indeed, we are touched by the spirit of the children in care, the compassion of their caregivers and by the strength of the families whose loved ones need the services they provide. What an honor to be a part of this kindness. ”
Tecsys has local initiatives such as Pedal for Kids that are firmly rooted in the DNA of the employees. From Sun Youth and Operation Santa Claus to Dans la Rue and Unlimited Youth, children’s well-being has long been at the center of the company’s community efforts.
Peter Brereton, President and CEO of Tecsys, adds, “These community outreach efforts reflect the incredible integrity that the Tecsys team so often demonstrates. We congratulate these employees for their initiative and will continue to encourage these generous and worthy companies.
