Police will hold a community engagement event in Foxhill, North Watford

Submitted by Hertfordshire Police

Officers from the Watford North Safer Neighborhood team are hosting a community engagement event this weekend, working with the Fire Service, Watford Borough Council and Watford Community Housing.

On Saturday June 11, officers will be at Foxhill in North Watford, Hertfordshire between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., introducing themselves to local residents and asking them what they would like them to focus on in the coming months, giving crime prevention tips, and promote our OWL Neighborhood Watch program.

There will also be a recruitment booth at the event, so if you’ve ever wanted to join the police or find out more about the roles available, now is your chance – officers from our recruitment team will be on hand to answer any questions and explain to you throughout the application process.

The fire department will also be on hand and will be offering free home fire safety visits.

Watford Community Housing will provide a dumpster from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for residents to dispose of household waste free of charge. Unfortunately, bulky items such as washing machines, refrigerators, sofas or chemicals/paints will not be accepted.

PC Brad Webber, who is organizing the event, said: “Please come down and say hello if you’re free that day.” Now that the Covid-19 restrictions are no longer in place, we look forward to hosting more face-to-face events and finding out in person what we can do to help you feel safer.

“The purpose of this event is to get as much input as possible from local residents of Foxhill and Brush Rise on what they think we should be focusing on in terms of policing activity and partnership, and what we can do to help them feel safer. . The information will help inform our patrol plans and the priorities we should be focusing on over the coming months.

“If you don’t live in the Foxhill and Brush Rise area, you can always use our ‘echo’ community voice platform to share your views on what you think we should be focusing on at Watford.
