Birmingham, Alabama- South Carolina Men’s Tennis Sophomore Carter Morgan was named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday.
Morgan leads the team during community service hours and is a member of the South Carolina Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where he serves on the Community Service Committee. Through this position, he coordinates community service opportunities for all student-athletes at the university.
Recently, Morgan coordinated Meals on Wheels service opportunities in which he encouraged other student-athletes to get involved. Through Meals on Wheels, Morgan led fellow student-athletes in packing and delivering meals to homebound seniors in the Columbia community.
Along with her work at Meals on Wheels, Morgan has also helped St. Lawrence Place, a local housing community that provides support services and life skills training to homeless families. He helped the organization move supplies to their new facility.
Along with his community service work, Morgan was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during all three semesters of his time in South Carolina.
Morgan and the Gamecocks will be in action for their final home game of the season on Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. at the Carolina Tennis Center. The No. 9 Gamecocks will host the No. 21 Texas A&M for the senior day.
