Mohawk College Partners to Provide Training to Help Seniors Live Safely and Longer at Home | News

Age Safe® Canada, a national education and advocacy organization dedicated to making the lives of seniors aging at home safer, is proud to announce its relationship with Mohawk College. Mohawk will add the Senior Home Safety Specialists (SHSS) certificate to its continuing education offering. The Senior Home Safety Specialist course gives professionals practical ways to better educate clients, seniors and their family members about serious issues in home safety, falls prevention, financial abuse and personal security.

Mohawk students interested in the program will be able to access the course through Mohawk’s online learning platform. Upon completion, Age Safe® Canada will award them the Senior Home Security Specialist certificate.

Bay Area Health Trust is in talks with several national associations, home care companies and others involved in the aging in place, senior care industry to include Senior Home Safety Specialist™ certification as part of their offering to members and employees.
