FAYETTEVILLE, Arch – For the second straight year, senior infielder Danielle Gibson has been named to the SEC Softball Community Service Team, the conference announced Tuesday.

The SEC sponsors community service teams for all 21 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team seeks to highlight one athlete from each school who gives back to their community with superior service efforts.

A dynamic leader at first base, Gibson also exemplifies his natural leadership skills within the local community. The Murrieta, Calif. native is a regular participant in Miracle League. She also helps Healthy Hogs Call by visiting local elementary schools to discuss the importance of healthy eating and exercise. In October, Gibson made gift bags and wrote thank you letters to first responders. Volunteering with local missionaries, Gibson helps cook meals, including holiday dinners, and volunteers with his church to teach boys ages 8 to 12 life skills. Gibson and the Razorbacks volunteer with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank and read to students at local schools. Gibson was also heavily involved in “Shopping with the Razorbacks Money Donation”, where she fundraised and collected money for children to buy Christmas gifts.

Gibson and the Hogs travel to Sunshine State for the 2022 SEC Tournament at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. Arkansas, the No. 1 seed, opens the tournament at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against winner Georgia/Ole Miss. The game will air on SEC Network.
