Farquhar earns SEC Community Service Team honors

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Fifth year senior Garrett Farquhar has been named to the 2022 Southeast Conference Baseball Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

The conference appoints a community service team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, seeking to showcase an athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service efforts.

Farquhar embodies what it means to be an Auburn baseball student-athlete, both on and off the field. Highly respected by his coaches and teammates, he was named one of four Legacy Leaders for the 2022 team and leads by example in all aspects of student-athlete life.

In class, Farquhar graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance with a 3.30 GPA earlier this month and is a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

In the community, his service efforts have included stuffing backpacks and making food boxes for those in need while working in numerous camps for small children, both during and before his stay at Auburn. He generously gives of his time to fans of all ages by taking photos and signing autographs.

Farquhar and the No. 18 Tigers (36-16, 15-11 SEC) wrap up the regular season with a three-game streak at Kentucky (28-23, 10-17 SEC) from Thursday through Saturday.
