Firefighter training materials purchased with a donation from Enbridge Gas to 50 Ontario fire departments, including Greater Sudbury Fire Departments
Enbridge Gas helped the City of Greater Sudbury purchase firefighter training materials as part of a $ 250,000 donation shared by 50 Ontario fire departments.
Greater Sudbury’s share was $ 5,000, which was used for educational materials through the Fire Marshal’s Public Council on Fire Safety. Enbridge’s Safe Community Project Assist program complements existing training for Ontario volunteer and mixed fire departments in the communities they operate.
âGiving our firefighters the skills and knowledge they need to do their best is the most important part of fighting fires,â said Joseph Nicholls, Chief Fire and Paramedic for the Town of Greater Sudbury. âWe appreciate Enbridge’s contribution.
âWe are proud to support Ontario firefighters who share our commitment to keeping our communities safe,â said Luke Skaarup, Northern Region Operations Manager for Enbridge Gas.
âFighting fires can be dangerous and unpredictable, and this training material positively contributes to the health and safety of firefighters and the community at large,â said Ontario Fire Marshal Jon Pegg, who also chairs the Public Council of Fire Marshals on Fire Safety.
