BURBANK, CA – Disney plans to launch a new development venture to build planned communities, called Storyliving by Disney.
The company will build the first new community in Rancho Mirage, California, and plans to develop additional sites across the United States in the future.
According to Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Producer Michael Hundgen, Storyliving by Disney communities will provide residents with indoor and outdoor spaces to explore and engage. “Disney Imagineers explores the richness of each local region to inspire the theme of Storyliving by Disney communities,” says Hundgen.
Each community association will be managed by Disney cast members, who are trained by the company’s guest service. Disney will also offer club membership at each location that will allow residents access to curated experiences, such as wellness programs, philanthropic efforts, seminars and entertainment, including live shows and classes. of the kitchen.

Select Storyliving by Disney neighborhoods will be for residents ages 55 and older.
Located outside of Palm Springs, Calif., in the Coachella Valley — where Walt Disney once owned a home — the first Storyliving by Disney, named Cotino, will offer residences, a hotel, retail options and entertainment and a crystal clear lagoon.
Cotino will offer a range of home types including estates, single family homes and condominiums. The Rancho Mirage Community will be available to owners of all ages and will include at least one section only for residents 55 and older.
The community will surround a large 24-acre oasis that will feature clear turquoise waters with Crystal Lagoons technology, upon specific plan approval for the development. Crystal Lagoons technology makes it possible to build crystalline lagoons in a sustainable way, with low water consumption while using a minimum of additives and energy.
The Cotino Community Specific Plan Approval further includes a retail, dining and entertainment district, a beachfront hotel and a professionally managed beach park that the public can access with a fee. purchase of a day pass.
Disney will offer Cotino residents a voluntary club membership that will provide access to a waterfront clubhouse, club-only beach, recreational water activities and programming, entertainment and activities from Disney.
Cotino will be developed in collaboration with DMB Development.
