The Ottawa Police Services Board (OPSB) has launched a community engagement process to assist in the search for the next Chief of the Ottawa Police Service (OPS).
The community engagement process is being led by Ottawa-based firm, Hefid.Solutions, in conjunction with executive search firm, Odgers Berndtson, previously hired by OPSB to help with the recruitment process.
Hefid.Solutions has designed an engagement strategy to give all Ottawa residents the opportunity to have their voice heard on what they would like to see in the future Chief of Police. The engagement strategy includes several options for providing feedback, including an online survey, group engagement sessions, and one-on-one interviews.

Hefid.Solutions will also host a series of focused one-on-one interviews and group sessions with various community representatives to solicit further input and ensure input from a range of stakeholder interests.

How your comments will be used
Hefid.Solutions will compile all community feedback into a report that will be presented to the Board of Directors at its monthly meeting on July 25. Feedback will be used by the Board of Directors and Odgers Berndtson to inform the development of the job posting, as well as the interview process for potential candidates.
