ASC history

The Community Service Association (CSA) was organized as a result of meetings between employee organizations who felt the need for a contribution club similar to others in the city. A temporary board of directors first met on February 6, 1956, and the San Diego Unified School District Community Service Association (CSA) was incorporated under the laws of the State of California as a corporation for purpose non-profit.

Since the Association’s inception in 1956, ASC members have donated over $ 12 million to support local nonprofit organizations with a focus on diverse and equitable programs in the fields of arts, education, health and social services.

How to join the ASC
