Requests for the skydiving training for the Seattle Urban Nature Guide Volunteer Program is currently accepted by Seattle Parks & Recreation.

The training will start on Saturday August 27 and applications should be sent on Saturday August 20.

By introducing families and children to Seattle’s parks, Seattle Urban Nature Guides enrich, promote and cultivate an appreciation for nature while providing educational opportunities for all.

As a SUNGuide, you will: Develop professional skills such as public speaking, education methods and group engagement Participate in a community with other volunteers and city staff. a wide variety of audiences and concepts of equity Lead hands-on learning experiences in a variety of settings, such as playgrounds and beaches Become familiar with Seattle’s diverse community

Lead a minimum of 8 educational events per year;

attend a virtual orientation (2 hours); complete a mandatory 5-day training course (9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) in the fall;

be available to lead school outings during the week;

or weekends and evenings for community and public programs; and be encouraged to attend spring training in 2023.

Locations: Programs and events will take place at Seattle parks. The trainings will take place at a number of Seattle parks.

Days and hours of service: Monday to Sunday. Events and programs last an average of two hours.
